Research Objectives of the Lesbian Health Research Center
The Lesbian Health Research Center adds another dimension to the goals of the Institute for Health & Aging by serving women across the lifespan, and providing research data for making public policy decisions, improving public education, and facilitating community interventions. Our specific goals are to:
- Conduct research, education, training and public service, reflective of a broad vision of health and a strong commitment to community collaborations.
- Engage
in health research on lesbian, bisexual women, and trans-gender
individuals using the research skills and experiences
of reputable UCSF faculty, as well as other nationally
recognized collaborators.
- Serve
as an ongoing forum for the research community and the
lesbian, bisexual women, and transgender communities
to participate in research.
- Ensure that the results of the Center’s research are widely disseminated and used in a broad range of settings, from clinical care applications to policy implementation.
