Research- We aim to enhance clinical practice and to inform policy about the health care needs of and delivery of services to lesbians, bisexual women, and transgender individuals through a program of research, postgraduate education and training, and public service. In 2004 the LHRC established the Dibble/DeJoseph Lesbian Health Research Award (Dibble/DeJoseph LHRA). The goal of this Award Program is to provide support for doctoral or post-doctoral students/investigators to conduct research about the health of lesbian, bisexual women, and trans-gendered individuals across the lifespan. Grant Applications are to be submitted in the required format and will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Applicants will be notified within 4 weeks (approximately) of submitting an application. Grant awards will range from $500 - $1000. Grant award checks will be made to the primary institution identified on the application cover page. Grant money is NOT awarded for completed research.
Within six months of completing the project, a final report*, a copy of the final dissertation or a copy of the final manuscript that was submitted to a peer-reviewed journal is to be submitted to the Dibble/DeJoseph LHRA Program Manager. Upon completion of the project, the investigator(s) will be invited to present their results at the annual LHRC Conference. * The final report should include a summary
of the purpose of the project, the methodology,
the results and the conclusions. The report can be a copy of a dissertation
or a copy of an article that was submitted to a journal.

**The Dibble/DeJoseph Lesbian Health Research Award does not cover personnel costs (salary and benefits) for the Investigators or indirect institutional costs. 5) Institutional Review Board approval from the investigator’s institution if animals or humans are involved in the project. Project funding will not be released until approval has been received. 6) Biosketch (2-3 page) of Principal Investigator and Faculty Supervisor/Co-Investigator. 7) Short letter of support from the faculty member who is supervising the project. 8) Signed statement by the Investigator and, if applicable, by the Co-Investigator that:
