Objectives
The Lesbian Health Research Center adds another dimension to the goals of the Institute for Health & Aging by serving women across the lifespan, and providing research data for making public policy decisions, improving public education, and facilitating community interventions. Specifically, our objectives are to:
-
Conduct research, education, training and public service, reflective of a broad vision of health and a strong commitment to community collaborations.
-
Engage
in health research on lesbian, bisexual women, and
transgender individuals using the research skills
and experiences of reputable UCSF faculty, as well
as other nationally recognized collaborators.
-
Serve
as an ongoing forum for the research community and
the lesbian, bisexual women, and transgender communities
to participate in research.
-
Ensure
that the results of the Center’s research are
widely disseminated and used in a broad range of settings,
from clinical care applications to policy implementation.
